“Security System Activated, Sir”

In December of 2023, we were extremely excited by Tesla's Holiday Update — the one that opened custom lock sounds to every Boombox-enabled Tesla. We started experimenting the same weekend and put a handful of clips online.

The response was mind-blowing. We were getting hundreds of requests a day for custom lock sounds — JARVIS, movie one-liners, family voices, kids naming the car, you name it. That's how PopTheFrunk started.

The workflow that made it click:

1. Record or pick a source clip — a phrase, a movie moment, a family member's voice. 2. Master it for Boombox — Tesla's speaker rolls off hard below 200 Hz and clips above -3 dB. We normalize, notch, and level-match so it sounds crisp at 20 feet. 3. Package it — a single `.wav` in the exact folder structure Boombox expects, so you drag one folder onto a USB stick and you're done.

FrunkFactory is the next step: a browser-based studio so you can build your own without emailing us. You'll be able to layer clips, tune EQ against a Tesla-speaker preset, preview against ambient noise, and check out with the finished file. Same for lightshows and, eventually, digital wraps.
